OneRepublic was founded in 2002 by Colorado Springs, a former schoolmate - soloist, multi-instrumentalist and lead singer Ryan Tedder and guitarist Zach Filkins. The current line-up consists also of guitarist Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, drummer Eddie Fisher and keyboardist Brian Willett.
It took a whole five years from getting together until the first recognition, but it was really powerful bang then! At the time, well-known producer Timbaland included his version of OneRepublic's piece Apologize in his 2007 compilation album, which soon became an extremely strong hit worldwide. The song ranked first in 16 countries, with over 6 million copies sold in the US alone. Naturally, Apologize's success drew attention to the band's debut album “Dreaming Out Loud”, which featured prominent singles like Stop and Stare, Say (All I Need) and Come Home.
In 2009, the album “Waking Up” introduced hits such as All The Right Moves and Secrets. In their third album “Native” (2012), the hit list was enriched by Counting Stars, Feel Again, If I Lose Myself and Something I Need.
With the release of "Oh My My" in 2016, the band's style changes from classic pop rock hits to a more versatile, rich sound. As a result, the album, with hits such as Wherever I Go, Kids and Let's Hurt Tonight, reached the highest ever number three on the Billboard chart.
The latest album, "Human," is expected to be released this spring with singles Rescue Me and Wanted already on rotation.
Ryan Tedder is also known to be a very productive, highly regarded songwriter and producer. To his creative spirit belongs dozens of top-tier compositions, including Leona Lewis' Bleeding Love, Beyonce's Halo, Adele's Rumor Has It and Turning Tables, Demi Lovato's Neon Lights, Jennifer Lopez's Do It Well, Ella Henderson's Ghost, and many more.
As a producer or composer, Tedder has collaborated with artists as diverse as Paul McCartney, Whitney Houston, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, James Blunt, U2, Maroon 5, Pink, Sean Mendes, Backstreet Boys, David Guetta and countless others.
OneRepublic has received several awards and landed many nominations, including ones for American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, World Music Awards and Grammy Awards.
Ryan Tedder won 3 Grammy Awards due to his songwriting credits for Adele and Taylor Swift.
