Headliners for LMT SUMMER SOUND 2014 festival announced

This summer the LMT stage at the LMT Summer Sound 2014 will host British electro pop duo Pet Shop Boys, the most celebrated Latvian singer Dons, as well as the most eminent British producer Naughty Boy. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to see the comeback after two years of Latvian hip-hop artist Gacho with his amazing new show. The announced line-up also includes American musician Mykki Blanco, as well as Latvian artists Otra puse, Jenny May and Lithuanian project Golden Parazyth. LMT Summer Sound Festival will take place from July 11th to 12th.

Pet Shop Boys with their classic hits like West End Girl, Always On My Mind, Domino Dancing will return to Latvia on their worldwide Electric Tour devoted to their brand new album. The most successful British duo continues to come up with vivid and authentic music and have promised a new single in April, as well as the most impressive show Liepāja has ever experienced.

Dons (Artūrs Šingirejs) is currently the most acknowledged Latvian soloist. At the beginning of the year, he celebrated the release of his album Varanasi with six sold-out solo concerts at Palladium Rīga stage. Currently, Dons is on tour throughout Latvia and has promised to bring exceptional performance to Liepāja.

Presently the most demanded British producer, songwriter and musician Naughty Boy (Shahid Khan), who became world-renowned with his catchy hit La La La, will perform at LMT Summer Sound with his live band. The release of debut album Hotel Cabana last year comes after his work on producing several British albums, which hit Top 40 list, as well as collaborations with musicians such as Emeli Sande, Leonai Luis, JLS and Tinie Tempah among many other world-known artists.

The return after two years of hip-hop artist Gacho on LMT stage at the festival follows the release of his two singles from the forthcoming album Skills To Party/Mans festivāls. Gacho’s performance two years ago was the central event of the festival, but the comeback will hit harder than ever.

It is expected that the greatest surprise at the festival will come from the American multi-genre performer Mykki Blanco. Started as an industrial rock project three years ago, he moved to rap and released his first EP Mykki Blanco & the Mutant Angels in 2012, but the debut album Micheal will be released in the near future. Critics have praised the absence of borders in Mykki Blanco's music and acclaimed that his work does not leave one with no emotions.

The debut at the LMT Summer Sound will be for one of the best Latvian pop group Otra puse. The performance will include not only the songs from their brand new album, but also hits which have become the classic of Latvian pop music history.

Latvian singer Jenny May is currently working on her new studio album, in which Latin rhythms will dominate. The first single from the album has already reached over 1 million views on YouTube.

Lithuanian band Golden Parazyth which started as a solo project, transformed into a duo, are currently the most popular music project in the country. Their taste of music is full of dark electronic harmonies, ambient and 8-bit music, as well as energetic rhythms and organic interplay of indie-rock-like vocals. They visited Latvia last year to perform as a warm-ups for the British duo Hurts concert at Arēna Rīga.

The line-up of the LMT Summer Sound 2014 will be updated pretty soon, so stay tuned!
