ELECTRONIC SOUL ARTIST JAMIE WOON TO PERFORM AT PALLADIUM
British singer, songwriter and producer Jamie Woon returns to the stage with a new album and a long-awaited tour after a ten-year break. Celebrating the release of his third studio album, “3, 10, Why, When”, Woon will perform in Riga for the first time on 15 November at Palladium.
Tickets will go on sale on 1 July at 11.00 through “Biļešu Serviss”. Members of Positivus Festival and the FBI Concert Club will have access to a presale from 30 June at 11.00.
Jamie Woon is a London-based artist whose music moves between soul, R&B, electronica, folk and atmospheric urban soundscapes. He first gained widespread acclaim in 2010 with “Night Air”, a single co-produced by the influential electronic music producer Burial. Its intimate vocals and pulsing electronics helped define Woon’s distinctive sound and established him as one of the most compelling voices in British electronic soul.
Music has been part of Jamie’s life since childhood. His mother, Scottish Celtic folk singer and session vocalist Mae McKenna, has worked with artists including Michael Jackson, Kylie Minogue and Björk. As a child, Woon became fascinated with recording vocals in his mother’s studio, before later shaping his musical identity at London’s renowned BRIT School, whose alumni include Amy Winehouse, Adele and Olivia Dean.
In 2011, Woon released his debut album “Mirrorwriting”, featuring tracks such as “Night Air”, “Lady Luck” and “Shoulda”. The album reached number 15 on the UK Albums Chart, while Woon placed fourth in the BBC Sound of 2011 poll and was nominated for a MOBO Award in the Best Newcomer category.
Four years later, he released his second album, “Making Time”, bringing live instruments, a warm rhythm section and refined soul arrangements to the forefront. The album, which includes the single “Sharpness”, was nominated for the 2016 Mercury Prize. After nearly a decade away from releasing solo albums, Woon returned in 2025 with his third studio album, “3, 10, Why, When”, where soul, R&B, pop and atmospheric electronica come together in songs about relationships, vulnerability and change.
At the Riga concert, audiences will hear songs from the new album alongside some of Jamie Woon’s best-known tracks, including “Night Air”, “Lady Luck” and “Sharpness”. Listeners can expect a hypnotic and emotionally rich evening, with Woon’s velvety vocals creating an intimate and atmospheric mood.
