The Horrors, A-trak, Cherub un Just Blaze adde to POSITIVUS FESTIVAL programme

The Horrors are added to Positivus Festival’s main stage programme, while the Red Bull Music Academy announces A-Trak and Just Blaze as the leading stage names. The biggest pop music festival in the Baltics will be taking place for the eight time from July 18 – 20 in Salacgrīva, Latvia.

The British band The Horrors are releasing their albums in partnership with one of UK’s biggest record companies XL Recordings. Despite being a label that releases an average of six albums per year, XL Recordings work with some of the biggest and most influential names in music - Jack White, Adele, The Prodigy, Beck, Radiohead, The White Stripes, Dizzee Rascal, M.I.A., Vampire Weekend and others. Their brand new album Luminous (May 5, 2014) is already generating considerable buzz in the British press and is being dubbed the best new record of the year.

Red Bull Music Academy stage main headliner A-Trak is a Canadian DJ, turntablist, record producer and music label executive. He was the youngest winner of the DMC World DJ Championship at the age of 15 as well as the first DJ to win all three major DJ competition titles. A-Trak is also the founder and owner of Fool's Gold record label, co-founder of the disco house production duo Duck Sauce and is simply one of the 21st centuries most renowned and popular DJs. Due to his immense stage presence, excellent sense of rhythm, amazing remixes and technical turntable skills, the musicians leaves no listener indifferent.

There are not many musicians who can boast such major impact on the US hip-hop scene in the last 15 years as Just Blaze. During his career Justin Smith aka Just Blaze has produced records for Jay-Z, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Drake and many other Grammy winning artists, thus becoming one of the most sought-after producers worldwide. When not producing, Just Blaze organizes DJ contests, scouts for new talent and delights his fans with his DJ sets.

Nashville’s band Cherub dub themselves the sexy electro-pop duo that is the dance love-child of 80’s funk, and pop-music from the future. And they’re right – the band’s funky rhythms are in perfect tune with their delicate and poppy beats. Curiously, Cherub’s elegant and slightly hushed-up sound of their records is completely turned around during their live performances, revealing a different musical dimension that’s full of raw and untamed energy.

The festival 3 day ticket without camping currently costs EUR 57 and a 3 day ticket with camping costs EUR 63. Ticket prices are set to increase.
