«Hamlet» one of Shakespeare's most iconic plays, is being transformed for the first time into an intense and passionate flamenco production that deals with themes such as family,

revenge, power and murder. It features not only flamenco dancing, but also the

participation of a local chorus, creating an all-encompassing vortex of intrigue, mystery and tragedy. Flamenco has never been used before to represent this literary masterpiece, which makes the spectator experience a totally innovative and original performance that will intensify his or their emotions.

Tragedy, drama, and existential solitude — to be or not to be, to act or not to act, to dance or not to dance...

Renunciation or Revenge. The combination of flamenco language, classical music - inspired by the work of Mussorgsky - the primal presence of the Orfeón Donostiarra, and a contemporary dramaturgy stripped of artifices will give rise to a kind of oxymoron, in which seemingly opposing elements create a unified meaning.

The choreographic language of dance, flamenco performance, and theatricality merge with musical expression. The depth and beauty of Shakespeare's text will come to life through the voices of the Orfeón Donostiarra and the profound expressiveness of flamenco singing.

Leaving behind a chronological interpretation of the piece, this artistic proposal is based on revealing t h e feelings and emotions, the states of mind and existential abysses that mark the tormented life of Prince Hamlet.
