In collaboration with the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation, VEF KVARTĀLS will become the official 2025 Hockey Fan District from May 9 to May 25.
Entrance to the event is free of charge.

 

This spring, the spirit of hockey will once again take over the historic VEF territory – an area rich in industrial heritage, now transformed into one of Riga’s most vibrant cultural spaces.

 

The district’s authentic architecture, carefully restored buildings, and well-designed outdoor areas create a unique backdrop for shared fan experiences, while its convenient access and family-friendly environment make it an ideal destination for visitors of all ages.

Starting from May 10, VEF Vasarnīca and VEF Promenade will become the epicenter of the hockey celebrations, offering:
•    Food court zones for food lovers,
•    Safe and exciting activities for fans of all ages, including the youngest supporters,
•    The VEF Bar providing refreshing drinks,
•    Live broadcasts of Latvia’s games on multiple large LED screens throughout the district.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, popular comedian Rūdolfs Kugrēns will entertain fans between games with engaging contests and prize giveaways from our event partners.

 

Parking will be available in the EuroPark-managed area at VEF KVARTĀLS or at the Domina Shopping Centerparking lot.

 

In support of an environmentally friendly event, a deposit system will be implemented at the VEF KVARTĀLS bars.

 

The 89th IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship will take place from May 9 to May 25, 2025, in Stockholm, Sweden, and Herning, Denmark.

 

The Latvian national team will play their group stage games in Stockholm, with the first match scheduled for May 10against France.

 

The public screening rights for the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship games have been granted by Latvian Television.
