On October 4, 2025, the historic Liepāja Lutheran Church will host an extraordinary concert event: Rock & Organ for Liepāja. 

 

This one-of-a-kind evening will present a fusion of powerful organ sound with the expressive energy of rock music, enhanced by a carefully designed lighting concept and the church’s unique acoustics. 

 

Renowned rock classics will be performed in new, specially arranged versions for organ, guitars, percussion, and vocals. Audiences will experience legendary tracks by Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, Queen, and Deep Purple, reinterpreted through the lens of this distinctive instrumentation. 

 

The program will also highlight the rich heritage of Latvian rock. Works by Pērkons, Līvi, Liepājas Brāļi, excerpts from Zigmars Liepiņš’ acclaimed rock opera Lāčplēsis, and the audience-selected “Liepāja Song” will underscore the city’s well-deserved reputation as Latvia’s rock capital.

The event is organized by Baringtons K2 Association in collaboration with Okoncert, Liepāja 2027 Foundation, and with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, as part of the Rokam Roku program.

 

This concert offers a rare opportunity to experience the intersection of two musical worlds — rock and organ — in one of Liepāja’s most atmospheric venues.
