Arenacross Baltic Cup race will be held in Riga Arena
For the first time in Latvia “Arenacross Baltic Cup“ event will be held in Riga arena. In the indoor motocross track on 21st of November audience will see 30 best athletes from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and other countries. Race in Riga is the 2nd tour of the three races of “Arenacross Baltic Cup 2015” tournament.
The unique competition that moved the motocross race to the urban spaces was first held in Lithuania in October 2014. Latvian Augusts Justs then triumphed both at the Superfinal and Open Pro races.
“Arenacross allows to have a close experience of the motocross not only for avid fans of this sport, but also for those who are attracted to extreme sports, speed, technique, and a fierce struggle. Three hours for them will be enough to see all the beauty of motocross. Moreover, in the track equipped in the arena audience can follow every single movement of athletes, trampoline jumps and outruns; it will be easy for them to understand the course of competitions and they will not be bored by long breaks between drives”, the organizers of “Arenacross Baltic Cup” say.
The format of Arenacross, a motocross race variation that emerged in the United States, is very similar to supercross – this track is shorter and far more intense, with more densely arranged obstacles. It will not suffice to be only fast athletes in order to climb on the Arenacross Baltic Cup podium: equally important is the physical and psychological preparation and properly adjusted bike.
300 m long race track formed from sand and consisting of platforms for jumps, hillocks, speed zones and sharp turns will be mounted in Riga arena. Few thousand tones of sand will be used to form the race track. 30 riders who will pass qualification will be competing in three groups and superfinal: children (50 cc motorcycles), MX 2 (85 cc two-stroke, 150 cc two-stroke and four-stroke, 250 cc four-stroke motorcycles), Open Pro (125 cc two-stroke, 250 cc four-stroke, 500 cc two-stroke, 650 cc four-stroke motorcycles), and they will have to make two runs. Eight fastest athletes will fight one on one in the superfinal of Arenacross Baltic Cup.
Arenacross Baltic Cup is organised by Bravo Events in cooperation with Vaikų motoklubas and Lithuanian motorcycling sports federation. Tickets to the event are distributed by BIĻEŠU SERVISS.
