IGGY POP, the godfather of punk music, will perform in Tallinn
On June 14, 2022, the scandalous and wild American punk rocker Iggy Pop will perform at Alexela Concert Hall. The tour presents a collection from his back catalog and his 2019 album Free.
"If you’re not gonna do it, I'll do it for ya, I'll do it first" - at the forefront of both music and rebellion, Iggy Pop hasn't held back. Having influenced almost every punk band with the work of his band The Stooges, Iggy and The Stooges have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. In 2020 Iggy was awarded the GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award.
One of punk rock's most epic collaborations was certainly Iggy Pop's and David Bowie's - an alliance that resulted in Iggy's first two solo albums, "The Idiot" and "Lust For Life". The latter also includes one of his most famous songs, "The Passenger".
More is more - Iggy has made exaggeration an art form. Self-harm, exposure, and destruction have required audience attention and participation. The audience has carried him on their hands as well as let him fall. Very few artists can engage the audience as strongly as the iconic Iggy Pop, whose concert should be on everyone's "must-see" list!
