The evening will open with the music by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). The Bach part of the program will be continued with Choral Prelude "Nun komm der Heiden Heiland" BWV 659 ("Now come, Saviour of the gentile").

The music of the following two authors Domenico Zipoli (1688-1726) and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (1710-1736) will relocate the listeners to the realm of Italian music, historically synchronous to the Bach period.

Two works by D. Zipoli - Toccata all'elevazione (Toccata for the Ascension of Gifts) and Toccata all'Offertorio (Toccata for the Offering of Gifts) will be performed.

Sonata in F major IGP 27 will present the instrumental aspect of J.B.Pergolesi’s creative work, less known to the general public than his famous "Stabat Mater" and the opera "The Servant-mistress", however, no less interesting.

Organ Sonata No. 6 in D Minor Op. 65 by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdi (1805-1847) will return the listener to the path of German organ music. features of a three-part sonata.

The organ version of Cavatine de Wolfram"O du, mein holder Abendstern" from Tannhauser by Richard Wagner (1813-1883) will present another example of romantic art, addressing the distant past of German culture.

The concert program will be completed with two music pieces by Leon Boellmann (1862-1897) from Gothic Suite Op. 25: "Prière à Notre-Dame" and Toccata.

Different times and styles combined in the concert program of the Organ Evening in Riga resonating under the arches of the Dome Cathedral, allow us to hear the “... footfall of sonorous centuries”.
