POSITIVUS FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FIRST HEADLINERS - PIXIES, ELLIE GOULDING AND ALT-J

Pixies, Ellie Goulding and Alt-J are among the first announced acts set to perform at the 2017 Positivus Festival, which will be taking place at the beloved Fisherman’s park of Salacgrīva for the 11th time this year - from July 14 - 16.

The xx – first anounced artists of Sunset Festival 2017

With The xx – one of the world’s most recognised British bands, highly regarded by music critics – Sunset Festival starts announcing the program of coming Summer. Fink will perform in Latvia for the first time

British Folk-Rock, Blues and Indie band “Fink” will perform in Riga on Friday, 29th of September in concert hall Palladium. The trio will visit Latvia during a support tour of their upcoming brand new album to be rolling out in spring. “Fink” has released 7 albums until now, of which commercially most succesfull have been “Perfect Darkness” (2011) and “Hard Believer” (2014). The best known hits are Looking Too Closely, This Is The Thing, Perfect Darkness, Sort Of Revolution, Yesterday Was Hard On All Of Us.

Phantogram will perform in Riga in April

In 6st of April, with the only show in Baltics, American electronic rock and triphop duet Phantogram will perform in Riga. The show will take place in concert hall “Palladium” for their latest album “Three” support.

Evanescence – for the first time in Baltics

Sunset Festival, which started with great success and responsiveness in Sigulda will now expand to include Lithuania next summer. Festival concept remains the same - one-day performances from well-known artists of different genres. Separate concerts will be happening in different dates and venues. The key is a unique architectural place with an extraordinary feel to it.

FOO FIGHTERS TO PERFORM IN LATVIA THIS SUMMER FIRST EVER APPEARANCE IN THE BALTICS

The last great American arena/stadium rock band will visit Latvia for the first time in its 21-year career: Foo Fighters have confirmed that they will headline Lucavsala Island in Riga at the bank of Daugava River on the 21th of June. Special guests on this historic day will be Scottish trio Biffy Clyro, British-American The Kills and Elephants From Neptune. Marking the bands first appearance in Baltics many visitors from neighboring Estonia and Lithuania are expected. The event's ticket sales start on Thursday 15 December at www.bilesuserviss.lv.

International music festival LABA DABA/GOOD NATURE

International music festival Laba Daba will take a place from August 4th to August 6th, 2017 in the Ligatne Parish, University of Latvia conference and recreation centre ’’Ratnieki’’. ROBBIE WILLIAMS THE HEAVY ENTERTAINMENT SHOW TOUR 2017.

At a press conference in London today, Robbie Williams announced his highly anticipated 2017 European stadium tour. Twenty-nine shows in eighteen countries are announced, opening with a date at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on June 2nd 2017. Erasure will be joining Robbie Williams on the tour as special guests. Tickets go on sale this Friday, November 11. Robbie will perform a special one-off show at The Troxy in London this evening to celebrate receiving the prestigious BRITs Icon Award. The award is the highest accolade given by the BRIT Awards and has previously only been given to Elton John and David Bowie. It is only presented to artists whose writing, recording and performances have set them apart as having made a lasting impact on British culture, recognising the very highest level of achievement in music.

The annual alternative music festival SATTA is moving to Latvia

Latvia's vibrant music scene will be complemented by yet another music and arts festival this summer. After seven successful years in Lithuania, the annual alternative music festival Satta Outside is coming to Latvia. Set next to the beach of the Baltic Sea, it will take place in Pape from August 14 - 17.

Satta is the leading music event for those interested in music from beyond the beaten path and big headlines. Confirmed artists for this summer's Satta include Kode9, Dirty Beaches, Forest Swords, King Midas Sound, Submotion Orchestra among many more exciting performers that will join the line-up. Several Latvian artists such as Niklāvz, who was the winner of last year’s Satta Beatmakers Battle, also Riga’s “Dirty Deal Audio” crew and other indie electronica acts that will be presented by “The Baltic Scene” will play in the festival as well.

In the previous 7 editions Satta has seen hundreds and international names from eclectic DJ sets and live electronic music to hip hop, dub and post-rock. Musicians like Mouse on Mars, Gaslamp Killer and Low End Theory crew, Hudson Mohawke, Mount Kimbie, Machinedrum, Kelpe and many others have helped to shape the constantly growing musical portrait of Satta.

“We know that quite a few Latvians have been to Satta before in Lithuania and we're happy that we can bring Satta closer to you this year. We have changed festival location before, but this is the first time we will not be in Lithuania. Satta is growing and it is great we can share this adventure with Latvia's alternative music community. Additionally we are working with Pape Nature Park, as nature protection is something we take very seriously wherever we hold an event. ” told Zilvinas Stumbras, the program manager of Satta festival.

Music is the main but not the single most important part of the agenda at Satta. Artists from both Latvia, Lithuania  and other countries have augmented the festival since day one, bet that visual stories told in the open air or urban art transferred from concrete blocks to wilderness. This year it won't be any different with a multilayered art program put together by an international team of artists.

About Satta Outside Festival:
Satta, then called Satta Outside was born in 2007 when the owners of a popular Vilnius bar also called Satta decided to celebrate their first season in “Smiltyne” yacht club. Several hundred friends and positive atmosphere resulted in a similar event next year. In a short period of time the festival outgrew the yacht club territory and became one of the leading alternative music festivals in Lithuania with around 8500 visitors last year. 3 years in Curonian Spit, 3 years in Šventoji by the Baltic Sea and one edition right on the border of Latvia and Lithuania. This year Satta is moving to Pape in Latvia.
