FAMOUS COMPONIST AND PIANIST LUDOVICO EINAUDI WILL PERFORM AT ARENA RIGA AMPHITHEATRE

The name of today's classical music composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi is praised worldwide - his deeply touching and emotional compositions have enriched countless cinematic masterpieces. Einaudi’s ability to fuse traditional ideas of music genres with minimalism and contemporary pop has earned him a reputation of being a trully rare talent in the world of contemporary classical music. Next year Einaudi is going on a European tour and one of the stops will be Arena Riga amphitheater, where the great musician will perform on April 9. General sale of the tickets at Biļešu Serviss will start on November 30 and the prices will be starting from 49 €.

NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS – THE FIRST HEADLINER OF POSITIVUS’18

NORWEGIAN MEGA BAND A-HA WILL PERFORM AT SIGULDA OPENAIR STAGE THIS SUMMER

British musician Ghostpoet will perform at 'Music House Daile' on February 16

Band of cellists 2CELLOS from Croatia will perform in Arena Riga

On December 4, 2014, the duo of young cellists from Croatia Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser, known as 2CELLOS, will perform in Arena Riga. Duo has performed in Latvia in 2011 when they were “warming up” the audience before the concert of Elton John in Riga. Young musicians have already gained recognition all around the world by combining different genres of music in their play and offering wide choice of music to their audience starting from Vivaldi up to AC/DC.

Band 2CELLOS very rapidly started to gain recognition in 2011 when they inserted their record in the website Youtube.com giving their cover version of the Michael Jackson song Smooth Criminal. This record helped the band to sign an agreement with Sony Masterworks and go on a world tour together with Sir Elton John also with the chance to visit Latvia.

2CELLOS is the first instrumental ensemble who performed in the TV series Glee – they filmed in the episode devoted to Michael Jackson and performed the already mentioned composition Smooth Criminal.

Within the frameworks of their tour young musicians have already visited USA, Japan and several other European countries, as well as participated in TV shows, for example, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Lopez Tonight etc.

Setting of Naya Rivera of the 2CELLOS composition has reached the Top 10 of the Billboard HOT 100.
In January, 2013, 2CELLOS released their second album In2ition produced by the legendary Bob Yerzinin who has also  worked with several other world class stars like Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Deep Purple.  Also Elton John, Steve Vai, Lang Lang, Naya Rivera and Dzukkero took part in the 2 CELLOS new album record.

About participants of 2CELLOS:
Members of the Duo Sulic and Hauser began playing cello already during childhood. Sulic graduated from the famous Royal Music Academy in London but Hauser Royal Northern Music College in Manchester.
 
Sulic has won several prestigious awards: first and special award in the seventh Music Contest of Lutoslawski, has won the international cello play contest in Warsaw (2009), as well as has gained the first place in the contest organised by the European Broadcasting Union “Young Talent” and won the Pastron award in Wigmore Hall in 2011. 
 
Hauser has worked with many renowned representatives of the classical music field like Mstislav Rostropovich, Bernard Greenhouse, Menahem Pressler and Ivry Gitlis. Stjepan is also the winner of more than twenty national and international music contests. He has twice performed for the Prince Charles in the Beckingham and Saint James palace. 
 
Both musicians has played in the main classical music concert halls like Vigmor Hall, Albert Hall, Saufbenk Centre, Konsertgebay in Amsterdam, Musikverein in Vienna and in the Dramatic Theatre in Berlin.
 
2CELLOS has also performed together with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queens of the Stone Age and Georges Michael. They have collaborated with famous producers T-Bone Burnett and Humberto Gatica, as well as legendary composer James Newton Howard.
